Iranian film ‘Malaria’ directed by Parviz Shahbazi is to be screened at the competition section of Geneva International Oriental Film Festival.
The film will compete at the 12th edition of the festival held from 1 to 9 April, 2017 in the Swiss city of Geneva.
‘Malaria’, Shahbazi’s third cinematic work about Iranian youth, after ‘Deep Breath’ and ‘Trapped’, won the Grand Prix award at Warsaw International Film Festival in 2016.
Starring Saghar Qanaat, Saed Soheili and Azadeh Namdari, the movie narrates the story of two youngsters with a taste of street music in Tehran.
The Iranian feature world premiered at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival in Italy.
‘Malaria’ was screened at various festivals, including Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and the 52nd edition of the Chicago International Film Festival in the US.
